This week we read and learned about Emperor Penguins. Then, we took what we learned and wrote some facts about penguins, and then developed some opinions we have about penguins.
We earned flashlight reading time for good behavior, so we spent an afternoon curled up with a good book, in the dark! We had a lot of fun! We had a lot of fun learning about rocks. Here you can see us using our magnifying glasses to identify the characteristics of different types of rocks. We looked at color, luster, transparency, and size.
The Thanksgiving Turkey did NOT want to be eaten, so he showed up to school in disguise! We did a little skit about the first Thanksgiving. Half of us were Native Americans, and the other half were Pilgrims. We love doing plays!
We have been working the past couple of weeks on a Thanksgiving themed writing called "My Favorite Thanksgiving Food". First, we graphed everyone's favorite food and then wrote about why is is the best by using sensory words in our writing. Then we got to create our ideal Thanksgiving plate!
